Why TechyRoo?
When it comes to a child’s knowledge and ability to use a computer along with other platforms of technology, there’s a huge gap between where they are and where they need to be. To meet this challenge, we developed this platform to help create a balance in this divide and equip students with valuable computer literacy skills that they can learn and use at school, work and in their everyday lives.  TechyRoo is committed to meeting children where they are and teaching them the skills, they need in computer literacy.  In addition to enhancing their skills, we are continually seeking to inspire them to enter the IT (Information Technology) industry and become the next future leaders in technology.

What does TechyRoo teach?
It’s easy to look at a child tapping away at a mobile device, tablet, or video game system and assume that they have an authentic understanding of computer literacy, but this isn’t always the case. Thirty years ago, most kids could operate a telephone – however, this skill didn’t necessarily prepare them for a career in the telecommunication sector. According to most teachers and educational tech experts, the skills developed at home are rarely enough to provide a significant educational advantage.
True computer literacy involves intimate working knowledge of computer software, computer hardware, and other digital tools. Broadly speaking, while consumer devices like iPads and smartphones are designed to be as user-friendly as possible, mastering more complex technology requires advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We help students hone those skills while also strengthening their ability to collaborate and communicate with others.
At the end of the program, TechyRoo students (and educators) will come away with enriched technological literacy skills and a non-superficial understanding of how the technology that governs our lives actually works.
Most importantly, the program teaches children about the varied areas of technology they can choose as a major subject to study. This will help them gain a deeper understanding of technology, develop a passion for STEM, and unlock the door to future success.
